Developmental Screeners
1 in 5 Children Start School Developmentally Vulnerable*
We understand that early childhood is a critical period, with 90% of a child's brain development occurring before the age of 5.
Do you have concerns about your child's development?
Our developmental screeners provide a comprehensive overview of key areas such as communication, motor skills, social-emotional development and problem-solving abilities.
These screeners help parents and caregivers identify where a child is thriving and where they might need some extra support. By addressing developmental needs early, we can work together to ensure every child has the best possible start.
Our team is here to guide you through the process, offering clear insights and recommendations.
What does it assess?
We use the Ages & Stages Questionnaire (ASQ-3) which evaluates your child's development in the following areas:
Communication: Understanding and using language.
Gross Motor Skills: Using large muscles for activities like crawling, walking and jumping.
Fine Motor Skills: Using small muscles for activities like grasping, holding and manipulating objects.
Problem-Solving Skills: Learning and playing activities.
Personal-Social Skills: Interacting with others and self-help skills.
How does it work?
Online and Convenient: The assessments are completed online and your child does not need to be present.
Easy Process: Each appointment is booked for 1.5 hours to allow for questions, scoring, and developing a detailed report. You only need to attend for the first hour.
What follows?
After your appointment, our Child Development Practitioner will score the assessment and share the results with you in a comprehensive report. This report can be used as evidence to gain ongoing support, if required.
Rates & Booking:
Our Developmental Screeners are $99, and payment is required at the time of booking. Please email us directly at admin@connecteducation.info to secure your appointment time.
*The statistic "1 in 5 children start school developmentally vulnerable" is derived from the 2021 Australian Early Development Census (AEDC). According to the AEDC data, approximately 22% of children are developmentally vulnerable on one or more domains when they start school. This data highlights the importance of early intervention to address developmental vulnerabilities before children enter formal education.
